Gibraltar
Gibraltar (2005–2012)
From 2005 to 2012, Gibraltar became one of the happiest and most fulfilling chapters of our lives. Drawn there through my work in the online gambling industry, we soon made the British Overseas Territory our home after purchasing a penthouse apartment overlooking the harbour. Despite ongoing political tensions with Spain and the challenges that came with living in such a small territory, Gibraltar offered an exceptional quality of life, a close-knit community, and lifelong friendships. During our time there, we adopted our much-loved rescue dog, Sophy, became actively involved in community life, and formed lasting relationships with people from many different backgrounds, including members of the Jewish community led by Rabbi Ronny Hassid. I served as chairman of our residential committee, won the Gibraltar Scrabble Championship, and enjoyed the unique culture, history, and traditions that made Gibraltar unlike anywhere else. Surrounded by views of Spain and Morocco from my study, those seven years remain among our most treasured memories.
